A panel discussion with educators, school administrators, parents and students on the importance of literacy in education and the impacts of literacy gaps and challenges faced amongst the Bay Area student population.

10:30 a.m. - Slang vs. Standard English Interactive Game
Entertain, empower, engage and encourage participants/readers of all ages to communicate effectively. English. Speaking and Listening-build on other’s talk in conversations.

11:30 a.m. - The Art of Storytelling
Come and Play! Learn how to tell and read stories creatively and successfully! - Engaging audience; how to use your voice, body and emotions to express yourself through storytelling.

12:30 p.m. The Power of Your Words
Poetry/Spoken Word – A workshop for poets and individuals seeking to strengthen their skills as spoken word artists in using your words to positively influence others,

1:30 p.m. - Explore the Creative Process of Making Picture Books
Explaining the differences between being an Author/Illustrator and Fine Artist, drawing and painting tips, live Illustration demonstration.

2:30 p.m. - Structuring Your Fiction or Novel
This workshop will identify for writers the components of plot, the various turning points in a story, and show where these changes need to take place to create greatest dramatic and entertaining effect for the reader.

3:30 p.m. - Books are a Business
When you wrote your book did anyone tell you that you were opening up a business? This workshop will highlight the importance of understanding that as a business owner there are certain fundamental elements your business must possess.

4:30 p.m. - How to Write a Book in 30-Days or Less
Have a story to tell but you don’t know where to start. This workshop will walk you through the FASTEST and EASIEST way to Write, Publish and Sell your book.

5:30 p.m. - How to Promote Your Book with Email + Social Media
Many authors find themselves seeking the right strategies to make their marketing efforts as effective as possible. But with so many different marketing activities that they could focus on, they often miss some of the important marketing concepts that will help them understand why those activities are so important. This presentation is designed to uncover some of those core concepts and show that a little bit of marketing knowledge can go a long way.
