Workshop: Grant Skills are Life Skills: Integrate to Accelerate

Successful grant writing is critical to any stage of an academic research career, but the process can seem overwhelming. This interactive workshop will provide practical tips and strategies for maximizing your research productivity and your competitiveness for grant funding. Participants will learn a new set of approaches to apply directly and immediately towards building their careers.

Authored by M.S. AtKisson, Ph.D, Grant Writers' Seminars and Workshops, and Cassie Rauser, Ph.D, UCLA

Presented by Cassie Rauser, Ph.D, Director, Sustainable LA Grand Challenge Project

Cassie brings over 20 years of experience organizing, collaborating, teaching, and fundraising through various environmentally-themed community and University programs. She holds a B.S. in Biology from Arizona State University, and a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from UC Irvine. As a research scientist, she published nearly 20 articles, and a book in 2011. Most recently, Cassie acted as the Director of Research Development at UC Irvine, where she worked to translate ideas and facilitate collaborations across disciplines. Additionally, her office was responsible for developing and coordinating the preparation of major interdisciplinary grant proposals and was instrumental in the development and funding of multiple campus research Centers, capital projects, graduate and undergraduate degree programs, and numerous individual faculty grants. Dr. Rauser has served as a reviewer for agencies such as the NSF and AAUW.

All are welcome! Space is limited. (Please note: no refreshments will be provided)

The Research Enhancement Series (formerly the Research Escalator Series) is a service of the UCLA Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research. This event is provided in partnership with the UCLA Library.
