We invite you to participate in an interactive discussion about recent NLRB activity with a focus on enhanced enforcement efforts in non-union workplaces. Topics will include the scope of the NLRB's enforcement authority; the Board's recent emphasis on protecting employees' social media communications; the Board's shifting position on employees' use of company email systems and assault on an employer's right to request confidentiality during investigations and in other areas; the NLRB's changing joint employer and arbitration agreement standards; and the NLRB's close inspection of employers' policy manuals and handbooks, including complaint policies, at-will disclaimers, dress codes, and premises access rules. We will also cover the current status of the Board's "quickie election" rule and anticipated legislation that may impact the NLRB's power.
Cost includes parking, continental breakfast, lunch and materials.
Lunch : After participating in an interactive program all morning, you'll be hungry. Please join us in the Bullard Law offices upstairs, in Suite 1900, after the Workshop for lunch and engaging conversation.
Parking: Complimentary parking is available in the 200 Market Building garage. Public transportation is also an option. The Tri-Met MAX lines (Yellow and Green) conveniently drop off two blocks west of the building at PSU Urban Center/SW 5th & Mill St.
