Early intervention programs for infants and toddlers are mandated to be family-centered, yet services are primarily child-focused. Best practices should honor the family’s voice and recognize the cumulative challenges they experience raising a child with special needs. Dr. Grossman will describe a family resilience framework to guide practice, and recurring themes that are the basis of a Parent Discussion Group protocol that addresses family relationships, family life and the social-emotional needs of parents.
