Validation Tools for Your Startup

Andrew Ackerman, DreamIt Ventures
Matthew Mausner, Woxxer
David Postolski, Gearhart Law
There is a thin line between success and failure in the startup world. Despite having developed products of considerable value, many do not survive since they have not devoted adequate resources to researching needs of potential clients or competitive threats from their peer group.

Clearly, collecting such information can be difficult in a sector filled with novel products. That said, there are validation methods and tools startups can use to have a greater chance of accurately meeting market needs and assessing the competitive position of their products.

The event is dedicated to helping startups fine tune their product offering and improve their knowledge of the competitive landscape. The topic will be approached from business acclerator, social media, and legal perspectives, and will cover among other issues:
(1) Methods to enhance acceptance of your products by your targeted client base
(2) Tools to evaluate competitive strengths and weaknesses of your peer group
(3) Patent and product differentiation checklist from an intellectual property perspective
