WONDER

Do you ever feel like you’re going through the motions of faith? Sometimes we doand say the right things, but our hearts are far from God. We lose our sense of holyawe. Come along a new journey with us to awaken to the nearness of God as we joinMargert Feinberg in her newest book, Wonderstruck.  Margaret invites you to tossback the covers, climb out of bed, and drink in the fullness of life God intended. All together we will enjoy Wonderstruck: Awaken to the Nearness of God in a7-session video Bible study filmed in the spectacular Canadian Rockies that willremind you what it means to awaken to the wonders of God and gaze on His beauty-every day! Then we will choose from one of two studies for the remainder of thesession as we seek Him. Whether you choose to seek him in the Galatians study andbe set free by the true gospel or in the Stuck study by relying on God who sets us freefrom the places we can tend to be enslaved; you will be able to further apply thoseconcepts learned from Wonderstruck to either study of choice.  Look inside for moredetails about your choices of study. After our time of study and worship, SIS is excited to continue to offer Growth Groups. It is an enhanced time of one half hour to build authentic Christian friendships as wepray and grow closer together in Christ, based on our bible study and walk in Himthat week.  If you are just joining us this session we will be happy to include you in one of the Growth Groups.  After our last session, we will gather for a closing lunch or evening supper with a time of fellowship and celebration of what we have learned. Come share in the Lord’s beauty and being Wonderstruck together through our studiesin His Word.

We look forward to seeking Him together with you in the coming year!

Galatians: - Gospel Matters.
A study by Timothy Keller. (Morning and Evening)

The aim of any bible study is to uncover the meaning of a passage and how itfits into the BIG PICTURE of the entire Bible.  But that can never be the end—weneed to apply what we learn to our lives.  In Paul’s letter to the Galatians thechurch was facing a dilemma: which gospel to rely upon? They relied on eitherthe Gospel of Christ’s work alone or the false Christ’s work-plus version.  This isstill true today. Tim Keller puts it this way, “Christ-plus may not look the same inour culture as it did in Galatia but it is still an attractive... but deadly message”.If this is your first bible study or 100th, you’ll enjoy this opportunity to learn andgrow with us in your Christian walk.  Come with us as we take 8 weeks to learnabout the wonderful, liberating and true Gospel that is presented in Galatians. The real one sets us free, now and eternally because it is based on the onlyperformance that counts: Jesus Christ’s life, death and resurrection!  The gospel really matters.

Stuck: The places we get stuck & the God who sets us free.
A video study by Jennie Allen. (Morning and Evening)

Do you ever feel stuck? Stuck trying to seem perfect?  Stuck in feeling scared, mad, discontent or overwhelmed?  These stuck places often go unattendedinside of us and they are shaping our lives more than we would like to think.  Godhas a plan for these spaces inside of us, the places we feel broken, but we haveto go to Him for help.  This scripturally based study is a journey to take an honestlook at the fight going on inside, leading us to the God who has a plan to restoreus.  The author states “In this study the focus is intended to remain on God andHis plan for us in eternity, and is not intended to be counseling.  I believe growingin our perspective of who He is and what He has for us changes the way we viewour past hurts and current struggles.  My goal as you walk through Stuck is thatGod would get bigger for you and as He does, you would see a new way to dolife, led by His Spirit.”  Join with us, after we have been wonderstruck by such anawesome God, in believing He will meet us in those stuck places and set us free!
