The Washington Council of Lawyers invites you to our continuing conversation,

Best Practices in Pro Bono:
Knowledge Management

Law firms, legal services organizations, and corporations
in dialogue to improve the business of doing pro bono.

During our 2014-2015 Best Practices in Pro Bono sessions, we are focusing our discussions on how we equip volunteers to do their best work for pro bono clients.

Our next conversation focuses on knowledge management. We will talk about how to most efficiently collect and share practice tools, models, and information within and among our organizations. Topics will include use of technology to connect volunteers to resources, developing in-house expertise in law firms (and sustaining it through lawyer turnover), keeping volunteers informed about changes in the law or emerging issues, and streamlining information-sharing between firms and legal services organizations.

Our facilitators for this conversation will be Marcia Maack, Assistant Director of Pro Bono Activities at Mayer Brown LLP, and Kristen Uhler-McKeown, Director of the DC/Baltimore office of Tahirih Justice Center.

Please join us on Wednesday, January 21, 2014, at Fried, Frank Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP, 801 - 17th Street NW.  We will gather at 8:30 am for a continental breakfast; the facilitated conversation will take place from 9:00 - 10:00 am.

As always, there is no cost to attend.  Please feel free to invite others to join the conversation!
