In conjunction with the 61st Annual International Education Conference in San Diego, California, the Right of Way International Education Foundation (RWIEF) and the Canadian Right of Way Education Foundation (CRWEF) are hosting their 19th Annual Golf Tournament. The Conquistador Classic will be held at Coronado Golf Course on June 16, 2015.  Coronado Golf Course is a Municipal Golf Course located approximately 4 miles from the conference host hotel, on nearby Coronado Island.

Coronado Golf Course is known as one of the highest rated municipal golf courses in the nation.  It has dramatic views along the west coast of Coronado Island.  The course plays to 6,276 yards from the white tees, with a rating of 76.4 and a slope of 134.  Considering the wonderful San Diego climate and the magnificent setting along the Pacific Ocean, this is one event not to be missed.

The tournament is limited to 144 participants, and all proceeds are donated to the Education Foundations. Registration will begin at 11 a.m. with use of the range as well as chipping and putting contests before the 12:30 p.m. tee time. The fee to enter is $125 and includes green fees, golf cart, barbeque lunch, beverages, and transportation to and from the conference host hotel.  Prizes will be given for closest to the pin on the par 3’s, long drive for both men and women, as well as the top 3 places.  A large raffle will also follow the event.

Rental clubs are available at a cost of $50 per set, and the course has enough to supply our entire field.  However, you must register and pay for the rental clubs through the tournament chair.  The golf course will not reserve rental clubs, they must be reserved through registration.

Sponsorship opportunities are also available for individuals, chapters or companies who wish to further support the goals of the Education Foundations. Sponsorships range from the Platinum level at $2500, to sponsoring individual holes for $300. All activities related to the tournament will be handled by the RWIEF, a 501-c-3 organization, which is a separate entity from IRWA.
