KEYNOTE SPEAKER
Matt Christie is a Senior Project Manager with TRC Energy Services. Matt has a depth of experience designing and managing utility incentive programs across the residential market sector, including design of the California Advanced Homes Program (CAHP). He also supports the development of California’s Title 24 energy code. Matt holds a Master’s of Science in engineering from Dartmouth College with a focus on energy efficiency, building science, and energy modeling. His program design approach focuses on whole-building energy use and Zero Net Energy initiatives.

Andy Wahl
Andy Wahl started in the Building Science field in 1980, Attended Jordan Energy Institute to study Renewable Energy, and Energy Efficiency. He has completed 7,500 plus energy analyses, provided technical support and training for energy auditing staff and consulted on software programs. He has ten years of computer tech support. Certifications: RCS Auditor, HERS, BPI Super Proctor. He and his wife, Cara, own AC Home Performance, Inc. Their home has been retrofitted to Zero Net Energy.

James Bill co-founded and is president of Z I A [zero impact architecture] integrating beauty with the science of deep sustainability. He is the architect of the first new-construction Passive House in California, an extremely low energy building that is also an affordable housing unit, which has no furnace yet has the highest levels of indoor air quality and comfort, and lowest operational costs and carbon footprint of any US building system. He is a past board member of the USGBC Redwood Empire Chapter, currently Board Member of Passive House California, Certified Passive House Designer, LEED AP, and active speaker on carbon footprint reduction needs and strategies.

Born in Salt Lake City, UT in 1969 and raised in Southern California, Rick grew up with an innate talent and interest in the process of building. His first job in the trades at the age of thirteen was followed by years of mentoring by seasoned building professionals through summer positions and later apprenticeship periods.
During his formative years, he had the privilege to serve in the USMC and with the support of his parents, the G.I. Bill and a hammer to earn his way, he graduated with a B.S. from the University of California, Davis. In 1996, he had the opportunity to move to the Napa Valley and start his own company. He’s been building in Northern California ever since with one goal in mind – “Better Buildings”.
