What’s new this year?

New presenters: This year’s event includes 46 presenters and 68 topics. While many of our tried-and-true presenters will return, featured are several up-and-coming presenters in the substance abuse field.

New topics: An adolescent track will be a highlight for the 2015 KSAODS. Presenters will address specific issues of interest to those providing services to adolescent clients. Check out the online catalog for additional new topic offerings.

New awards: In addition to the traditional Robert Straus Awards, this year’s Tuesday Evening Awards and Banquet will include presentation of the Mike Lowther Award for Excellence in Prevention Work.

New opportunities: A poster presentation session will be offered for the first time this year.  Selected posters will be showcased Wednesday, August 19, 4:30p to 6:00p inside the main ballroom, behind Registration/Check-in area.  Light appetizers are included.

New schedule: To better meet your training needs, Thursday’s schedule has been adjusted. No plenary on Thursday will allow for two three-hour workshops, or a single six-hour session.

What stays the same?

• KSAODS is sponsored by the Department of Behavioral Health Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities and Eastern Kentucky University, with additional supporters to be announced.
• KSAODS will be at The Crowne Plaza Hotel near the Louisville International Airport.
• The exhibit hall will feature a variety of vendors and fun entertainment daily.
• The registration fee remains the same as 2014 at $450 for the week (daily lunch and awards banquet included) and $125 daily (lunch included).
• CEUs and attendance certificates will be offered.
