JUDGING INFORMATION 

Judging will be performed by a jury of professionals from related fields in the building design/architectural profession.  The Design Competition Chairperson will serve as the official contact with the jury and in the absence of a specific rule, will decode all issues in question.

Winning entries may be featured in state publications (subject to designer authorization).  AIBD reserves the right to publish any and all portions of the entry.  Credit lines and copyright notices will be acknowledged.

First, Second and Third place awards may be made by the AIBD jury and will be announced during the AIBD California Annual Awards Luncheon.

 

AIBD, Designer Award Best of Show:  the Jury will select an entry from all categories which, in their judgment is the best of all of the submittals evaluated.  The entry will receive the AIBD Designer Awards “Best of Show.”

 

The Designer’s Choice Award will be selected by ballot vote of the AIBD members attending the conference for the entry from categories that they deem the most outstanding entry.

  

A project description sheet will be sent to you for each entry. This form may be photocopied but may not be redesigned. No other format or project description sheet will be accepted.

  

8x10 photos or color copies of your project. 

8 ½ x 11 reduction of floor plans, site plan and elevations. Additional plans of details, sections of other sheets may be included at the Designers discretion. Please provide a CD for each entry

Designer’s name, Client’s name, city and /or location must be omitted, cut out or blocked out. 

An entry identification sheet will be provided for each entry. You will be given an entry code which should appear on each sheet and photo.

A project description sheet will tell the judges about your entries. You will describe the project and any additional information regarding the design process.

 

This free category requires only reduced floor plans and elevations for entries that have never been constructed or resubmit projects from the past.
