Supporting the Selective Eater:
How to Make Lasting Changes for More Positive Food Experiences

Presented by Jessica Lewis, MS, OTR/L

Thursday January 15, 2015
12:00pm - 1:30pm EST

Webinars are online presentations geared towards professionals. Participants who call in live have the opportunity to participate in a question/answer session with the speaker. All registrants, regardless of live attendance, receive a download of the recorded webinar following the presentation.

In this webinar participants will build on the foundations laid in ‘Why the Picky Eater's Picky: Assessing Sensory and Motor Barriers to Eating.’ This presentation will provide therapists and other professionals with treatment strategies that address oral motor and feeding problems. Participants will be guided in how to develop appropriate treatment plans, provide treatment strategies for use in the home and community, and when to recommend alternative or additional support services.

Learning Objectives
By the end of this webinar participants will be able to:

  1. Recognize ways to develop a treatment plan approach based on evaluation findings.
  2. List treatment techniques for a wide range of clients with limited diets.
  3. Identify strategies to support selective eaters in the home and in the community.
  4. Recognize when to recommend additional support services.

She has experience in pediatrics, particularly in acute mental health and outpatient settings.
