ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:
Developing writing skills in a step-by-step fashion enables students of all ages to organize their ideas and complete assignments. Based on the Orton-Gillingham Approach, these multisensory instructional strategies will inspire and energize students as they become confident, competent writers. Geared towards teachers, tutors, and parents, this workshop will give you strategies you can use immediately at home or in the classroom.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Karen K. Leopold, MS Ed, is an Accredited Training Fellow of the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators. She holds four NYS Certifications: General Education N-6, English 7-12, Reading N-12, and Special Education N-12. She has taught one-on-one and in group settings, for both private and public schools. Mrs. Leopold served as the Director of the Kildonan Teacher Training Institute, and as the Director of Language Training at Camp Dunnabeck in NY. A national and international speaker, Karen has also published The Student Notebook I (Basic) and II (Advanced), and is co-author with Diana Hanbury King of the Learning Cursive Workbook.
