Presented By
Stuart Rothenberg, MD, FAAFP
National Director of the Transcendental Meditation Health Professionals Program (TMHPP)
Description
The Transcendental Meditation Technique is a mental procedure which allows mind and body to settle into a state of deep relaxation and physiological rest. The technique is practiced while sitting comfortably, for 20 minutes twice daily. A wealth of published research, including over 380 peer-reviewed published studies, has documented numerous health benefits associated with TM practice. Among these are a specific effect in helping individuals who are addicted to alcohol and drugs to overcome these dependencies and achieve a healthier state of mental and physical balance.
