A two half-day workshop designed to teach employment managers, employment specialist, job developers and coaches, other agency support staff, teachers, parents and their teams the details of Social Security Disability Benefits and Work Incentives.
Information provided by this training is a piece needed to build and sustain quality employment services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Spokane County. Attendees will gain accurate information and knowledge on:

Open to Spokane County participation only. This includes Employment Agencies and their staff, Spokane County Teachers and Educational Administrators and Parents who have children with intellectual and development disabilities who want to work.
Presenter: Cathy Sacco is a Senior Program Manager with the Washington Initiative for Supported Employment. She has been involved with employment for people with disabilities for over 25 years. Her history includes work as a founder and director of an employment agency, organizational transition to individual employment, system change and innovative projects on self-determination and employment mentoring. Cathy is also a certified Benefit Specialist and participates in the Washington Benefit Network. Her most current focus is outreach to businesses and expanding employer initiatives. Cathy provides technical assistance and consulting on Marketing to Employers, Recruitment, Training Development and Tools, Social Security and Medical Benefits, Work Incentives, Employment Mentoring and Person-Centered Planning.
