Thursday, February 26, 2015

DESCRIPTION

If you work with older adults in any setting, this training will be of benefit to you.  As an experiential training, it gives you the opportunity to “feel” the aging process and discover how it affects your senses and emotional and physical abilities.

 TRAINING OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this workshop, participants will:

  • Identify common age-related changes that can occur in older adults
  • Describe how aging-related losses of vision, hearing, touch, joint mobility, and fatty tissue can affect an older person’s physical and emotional abilities
  • Identify and dispel some of the myths and stereotypes associated with aging
  • Experience what it feels like to perform tasks as an older adult
