In Le Pâtisserie Making French Macarons with Chef Lina Pattavina
The Newport Cooks kitchen will be transformed into a French Pâtisserie as we learn to make beautiful French Macrons! Chef Lina Pattavina will teach us the intricacies of baking the light almond and meringue outer shell flavored with strawberry, peppermint, cayenne or ginger and smooth creamy centers of chocolate ganache, vanilla buttercream with ginger, lime and raspberry. And, we'll get to mix and match the flavor combinations to create our own unique macrons. Chef Lina says the Cayenne with ginger lime filling is especially delicious! Not to be confused with American coconut macaroons, French Macarons have a long European history and were perfected in France and found beautifully displayed in French bakeries and specialty macaron shops.
Once you’ve mastered these French delicacies, you’ll no doubt be begged to make them for dinner parties, tailgate parties and just because, life is too short not to enjoy French Macarons!
This class is appropriate for younger students accompanied by a parent.
