Mushroom Seduction with Chef Bob DiPietro
Just in time for Valentine’s Day! There’s nothing more seductive then the alluring flavor profiles of wild and exotic mushrooms. Allow RI Mushroom Company co-owner and classically trained Chef Bob DiPietro to take us one step further into the wonderful world of mushrooms. In his first class, he introduced us to 9 different mushrooms, their flavor profiles and how to perfectly cook them. In this class we’ll work with Maitake, Pioppino, Golden Oyster mushrooms and more. And, depending on weather conditions, he may also have wild foraged mushrooms. Students need to bring their favorite knife, cutting board and a non-stick skillet. (We’ll also have some to lend, if you don’t have all three). Chef Bob will have a gourmet mushroom laden menu for us to prep and cook together. He’ll coach each student on how to take mushrooms from Farmer’s Market to the pan and how to cook them to perfection. We’ll dine on everything we make. Chef Bob is a delightful Instructor and has so much culinary and mushroom knowledge to share! We’ll also taste wines chosen by Newport Wine Cellar to compliment the menu. Sign up early.
