For this evening we’ll be cooking authentic French cuisine taught by classically trained Chef Deja Hart. The menu is inspired by her recent trip to Paris with her Executive Chef husband Karsten Hart of Castile Hill Inn. They love to travel and when they do they let their palettes take the lead.
Our menu will include: Vol-au-Vent (individual puff pastry shells filled with mushrooms, shallots , parsley & truffle veloute), Bouillabaisse (fisherman's stew served with rouille)and Baba au Rhum (Current studded cake soaked in rum).
These monthly dinners are a great opportunity to get together with other people who love to cook in a social, fun atmosphere to learn new skills & techniques and to cook a great meal together. Come as a couple, with a friend or by yourself. After we prepare the meal, we’ll eat everything buffet style at Custom House Coffee, right next door. You’ll also have the opportunity to invite guests to join us for our delicious homemade dinner! We'll taste wines during class to compliment the menu and a cash bar will be available at Custom House Coffee as we enjoy our meal.
This is a regular series of monthly community gourmet cooking class dinners taught and prepared in the Newport Cooks Kitchen and enjoyed with invited guests in the Custom House Coffee dining room.
Class fee: $65/student - includes instruction and dinner (complimentary beverage tasting during class & cash bar at Custom House Coffee)
Guest fee: $30/guest - includes dinner (cash bar at Custom House Coffee)
