When Christ breaks through our ordinary existence with His friendship, nothing is ever the same.  If we open up our hearts to Him, He changes us, and we start to experience peace and direction that we never thought possible.   

But a funny thing starts to happen down the road.  People who used to be our friends can get left in the dust.  They don't "get us" in quite the same way our new friends do.  We care about the fact that Jesus doesn't seem to be in their lives at all, but what are we supposed to do about it?  We don't have the right words, it all feels a little weird and uncomfortable, and so we retreat.  We gather in our "holy huddles" and we start to forget that our hearts have been filled with God so we can give Him away.

The most important things we can invest in are God and people's souls.
