You are cordially invited to “Save the Beat”, an event celebrating those who have saved lives with an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and to commemorate our 15th Anniversary as a Foundation.
The event and foundation is in memory of Louis Savino, III who died suddenly in October, 2000 on a soccer field from an undetected congenital heart condition. An AED could have saved his life. Every three days a young person is lost in the US due to sudden cardiac death. Lack of an AED on-site and personnel trained to save a life prevent all attempts to avoid these tragedies.
The Louis T. Savino, III Foundation conducts ongoing fundraising efforts to promote awareness of sudden cardiac death in youth and to purchase AED’s for schools, camps and sports facilities. As our funding permits, we provide opportunities for ongoing CPR and AED training. To date we have donated more than $50,000 locally and across the country towards these essential AED units and important lifesaving programs.
The Savino Foundation’s mission is to see that all schools and youth facilities are Heart-Safe.
Event proceeds will benefit the Pennsylvania Schools AED Funding Initiative.
