Successfully Social: 5 Ways That Social Media Can Help Your Scenic Byway, Heritage Highway or Trail

Please join the National Scenic Byway Foundation and Tourism Currents for the first in our series of exciting and educational webinars!

What you will learn:

  • Learn what successful social media looks like.
  • How can you connect with hundreds of byway and highway visitors online, despite limited resources.
  • Understand the value of the time investment.
  • Discover the basics of why you need to be active on social media, and how using it effectively can power up your word-of-mouth marketing, search engine visibility and overall byway success.

About the Presenters:

Sheila Scarborough is a writer and speaker specializing in tourism, travel and social media.  She is on the National Professional Development Committee for the AWC (Association for Women in Communications,) co-founded and still writes for the Perceptive Travel blog, is active in Freelance Ausin, and serves on the Advisory Board for SXSWi, the South by Southwest Interactive tech conference.  A U.S. Navy veteran, Sheila is an NHRA drag racing fan because there's one winner, one loser and no whining.

Leslie McLellan is a destination marketer with over 20 years of experience and  loves  to share her knowledge. She is currently building a multicultural destination  marketing program for the San Jacinto Valley region in Southern California.  Previously she was the director of marketing and tourism for Lake Arrowhead, CA -  a mountain resort destination (which encompasses the Rim of the World Scenic  Byway) as well as a founder of a regional tourism organization. Her niche is  working  with communities (as well as with small businesses and nonprofits) that  have small  marketing budgets to help them creatively stretch their marketing  dollars.
