70th Anniversary Reunion Weekend 

Please join us in celebrating the AC Choir / AU Chorale 70th Anniversary Reunion Weekend in Anderson Friday, April 10 - Sunday, April 12. Many events are scheduled, including a Meet & Greet, Talent Show, Rehearsal, Performance with the Anderson Symphony Orchestra at the Paramount Theatre, Banquet and Reunion Concert.

Reunion Schedule

Friday, April 10

8:00 - 10:30 pm  Meet and Greet and "Alumni Talent Show"

Saturday, April 11

9:30 am  On-site check-in time to mingle with friends - York Hall Lobby

10:00 am  Opening Festivities and choir rehearsal begins

11:30 am BREAK (snacks available)

11:50 am  Rehearsal resumes

12:45 pm  Rehearsal ends - Lunch on your own

3:00 - 3:30 pm Rehearsal with ASO at the Paramount Theatre in downtown Anderson

5:00 - 6:45 pm Banquet at Student Center (includes several presentations) - See description of meal choices below

7:30 pm ASO concert at the Paramount Theatre - "A Broadway Musical Revue" featuring several outstanding AU Alums; Lawrence Brownlee, Lynelle Johnson, Kristin Watson Heintz, and Heather Lake Bays. The choir alums will be invited to join in on the finale of the scenes from Les Misérable by singing "Do You Hear the People Sing?"

Sunday, April 12

1:00 pm   Warmup rehearsal - York Performance Hall

2:00 pm   Break/Doors to hall open for guests

2:30 pm   Reunion concert - York Performance Hall - Nationally renowned composer and AU alum, Lloyd Larson, has been commissioned by Dr. F. Dale Bengtson to write a new work for the Reunion in honor of Robert Nicholson, founder of the AC Choir/AU Chorale. "God, The Spirit, Lives Within Us" will be performed by the Reunion Choir. Several other choral selections have been chosen and will be conducted by former conductors of the AC Choir/Chorale

-How Lovely is Thy Dwelling Place, Brahms - conducted by F. Dale Bengtson

-Give Me Jesus, arr L.L. Fleming - conducted by Paul Smith

-When I Survey the Wondrous Cross - conducted by Rick Sowers
