Seminar Description: For any engineering company, the end game of organizational leadership is to create a work climate that research indicates correlates with highly successful enterprises. This climate is achieved by engineering managers who are proficient in six specific leadership styles that are based on a series of critical competencies. Saturday's educational program will help you self-assess your strengths in these styles and competencies and develop a plan to improve your leadership over time, with the support of a rich body of published information on this leadership system.  The program will be conducted by engineering leadership expert James G. Dalton.

 

Our Speaker

James G. Dalton is a management consultant with specialties in leadership development, strategic planning, governance and customer research.  Prior to establishing his consulting practice, Dalton spent 18 years at the National Society of Professional Engineers where he served in a number of roles.  As deputy executive director he instituted one of the first quality management programs in the association industry.  He has also served as CEO of the American Society of Landscape Architects.  He provides leadership training to the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC).  Dalton’s management philosophy holds that excellence in leadership requires the expression of values through a strategy-making process that is empirically based, customer focused and committed to the development of human competencies.
