Healthcare Careers Discovery Program

The Healthcare Careers Discovery Program at Holy Name Medical Center's Institute for Simulation Learning is a simulation-based 1 week seminar for high school students interested in learning more about a career in healthcare. An active learning environment will include a combination of classroom and hands on experiences to prepare the participant for a successful future in any healthcare profession.  Applications will be accepted until April 1 at 11:59PM.

Session 1: July 13-17, 2015 9AM - 4PM  or Session 2: July 20-24, 2015 9AM - 4PM

Learn from experienced medical professionals as they share their knowledge.  American Heart Association CPR/AED & First Aid certification is included along with the opportunity to learn:

• Vital signs assessment
• Injection administration
• Emergency response

Additionally, career development strategies will be presented, including:

• Interview skills
• Interpersonal communication
• Résumé writing

Participants will be chosen by competitive application and receive a certificate of completion at the end of the session. Cost of the complete program including training materials, lunch, scrubs and training stethoscope is $775.00
