Orthopedic Clinical Pearls for Differential Diagnosis

Program Description

This 12 hour course will have an extensive emphasis on cases with correlating imaging.  Topics will include: Inflammatory Arthritis, Thyoid Carcinoma, Vertebrobasiliar Insufficiency, Carotid Artery Syndrome, and Ischemic Attack. 

Course Objectives

Upon Successful completion of this program, the student will:

  1. Gain a greater understanding of significant and potentially life threatening diseases
  2. Have reviewed various types of imaging including MRI, MRA and CTAs
  3. Have reviewed corresponding documentation

Format
The program content will be presented in lecture format.

Outline 

Differential diagnosis of Inflammatory Arthritis

Thyroid Carcinoma applied differential strategy

  • The doctor will learn the laboratory and diagnostic US findings to help determine which patients need FNAC

Vertebrobasilar Insufficiency, Carotid Artery Syndrome & Ischemic Attach

  • The doctor will learn from MRIs, MRAs, and CTAs the relevant anatomy of every branch of the internal carotid artery
  • Includes case studies of actual patient diagnosed by the chiropractic physician prior to a sentinel event

Roentgen Variants that simulate disease

  • Over 120 images of Variants often missed diagnosed

Applied differential strategy for Microcytic Hypochromic Anemias
