2015 KOA Spring Congress Registration for Paras/Opticians/Staff 

The 2015 KOA Spring Conference will be  April 23-25 at the Hyatt Hotel in Louisville, KY.  The KOA is offering 13 hours of continuing education for Paras/Opticians/Stadd.  There will be an exhibit hall during the meeting.  Food functions are included in the registration price.

Friday, April 24

8:00am -10:00am   “Cracking the Code: Clinical Case Management & Medical Record Compliance, Part 1"                                                                                                                                                         Using case examples, the lecturer will present various anterior segment disease states seen within optometric practice and ways we can improve our clinical skills from the case history, examination to medical decision making. Additionally, this course will discuss how clinical care should be reflected in the medical record & will be impacted by interaction of the CPT ICD-10 clinical documentation requirements. 1:30pm-2:30pm -  “Telephone Triage”                                                                                                      This course is designed for anyone who answers the telephone in the ophthalmic office. Common patient “emergency call” complaints will be discussed. 2:30pm-3:30pm  - “Tour of the Eye”                                                                                                       Travel through the layers of the cornea, take a nice swim in the aqueous, enjoy the beauty of the crystal  line lens, have lunch in the posterior chamber, and end the hour with a hike through the visual pathway. 3:30pm-4:30pm - “Plus or Minus"                                                                                                        Refractive status and the ophthalmic prescription are the focus of this course.
