Saturday June 6- Farming Exhibits of the Smithsonian 

Learn how you, the hobby or avid vegetable gardener, can apply organic methods in an urban environment. Discovery crop profiles, harvest techniques, companion planting methods, integrated pest management practices, and other techniques build productive gardens and healthy soils.

There is much to learn from historical farming practices that can improve our gardening success today. Join Smithsonian Gardens horticulturists Brett McNish and Joseph Brunetti for a discussion on the living farm exhibits at the Smithsonian museums and their significance to American history.
