COURSE DESCRIPTION
This program reviews what’s new in instrument reprocessing for both HLD and sterilization. AAMI standards and CDC guidelines for reprocessing reusable medical devices are referenced with specific instructions for use (IFU) examples. It is presented in a slide/lecture format with discussion throughout.

This course is perfect for the Dentist and practice team.

After viewing this presentation, participants will be able to:

  • list national accreditation organizations and their new survey approach
  • identify recent updates in high-level disinfection (HLD) and sterilization national standards
  • discuss specific examples of instrument manufacturer’s instructions for use (IFU)
  • explain ten (10) common practices versus best practices in reprocessing dental instruments

Certified as a NY State Health Education teacher, Chuck has worked over 25 years in the manufacturing industry in areas of Research & Development, Regulatory Affairs, Microbiology, Marketing and Sterilization Training. In 2005, he received the distinguished “Award of Honor” from IAHCSMM. Last year, Chuck received “Educator of the Year” from the Golden West Central Services Association and the “Robert Hilboldt Memorial Award” which is a lifetime achievement award presented by the Michigan Society for Healthcare Central Service Personnel.
