Television auditioning class with Casting Director Rachel Reiss of Liz Lewis Casting Partners 

The workshop will cover television and film audition techniques and acting for the camera.  You will have an opportunity to do a mock audition for Ms. Reiss and receive feedback.  There will be two separate sessions: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for ages 7-17, and 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. for ages 18 and up. About Rachel Reiss

Rachel Reiss is a Senior Casting Director at Liz Lewis Casting Partners, where she casts film, TV, voiceovers, and commercials nationwide.  LLCP is a bicoastal office that has been a front-runner in the industry for over 20 years.  

While obtaining her bachelor's degree in Communications at Boston University, Rachel worked at Telsey + Co., working on projects such as OrphansThen She Found Me, and Rent the Movie. Upon graduation, she began her career casting shows for numerous networks including the Bravo, Lifetime, Oxygen, A&E, Spike, HGTV, and Discovery. Most notably, she cast 11 seasons of Chopped on the Food Network. 

At Liz Lewis, Rachel has moved more heavily into scripted projects, while still employing the think-out-of-the-box formula that she honed in the unscripted world.  She has worked on voiceovers for clients such as Exxon, AT&T, Phillips Grooming, Zicam, and Bacardi, and over 100 commercials including Publix, Time Warner Cable, Coke, Philadelphia Cream Cheese, Samsung, and Kindle.  She is still heavily involved in the TV world, casting the children voices for Emmy Nominated Peter Rabbit on Nickelodeon as well as homeowner and hosts for Beat The House on HGTV, Junk Food Flip on the Cooking Channel, and an upcoming Travel Channel show. Most recently, she cast the feature films All Wifed Out starring Eve and Marc Maron and A Year and Change starring Bryan Greenberg and TR Knight. Rachel is currently working on more films and numerous commercials.

Rachel has been a panelist for Casting Commercials for the New York Women in Film and TV and Creating Commercials for the SAG Foundation. She can also be found teaching actors around the city. She has been a member of the Casting Society of America since 2013.

Rachel is currently casting a number of projects and is always on the lookout for amazing talent.   

During the workshop Ms. Reiss will work with you on audition techniques (from a casting director perspective), provide one-on-one feedback on your mock audition,and help you be ready for your next big audition.  This class is perfect for the beginner as well as the seasoned professional.  Please bring a headshot and resume if you have one.
