Making Baby Food

Have you ever wanted to make your own baby food, but just aren’t sure how? Are you like me and want to make sure that your kids get the most nutrients out of the food that you are giving them? Then join us Tuesday, August 18th at Mitchell’s Ice Cream in Ohio City from 6:00-8:00pm.

My name is Jess and I am a mom of four (and a half!) I have learned so much about food working for Fresh Fork Market for the last few years. I will be partnering with Marisa Pelser, who is known as The Raw Trainer, co-owner and founder of a personal training and palates gym in Strongsville, called PURE Health + Fitness. She is a mom of three and quite experienced at making her own baby food.

Marisa’s story is fascinating. Check out this page on her website to find more. Her focus is on vegan and raw foods. This class will also incorporate meats because we know that not everyone is vegan, and quality meat contains excellent nutrients for growing baby brains.

We have done this class in the past, but will be including some new elements this time around. Something I am really excited about is that we will be teaching on how to make your own baby formula. This past year, I was unable to breastfeed my youngest, who was about four to five months old at the time, for health reasons. After extensively researching powdered formulas, I felt that most of what was commercially available was not close enough to the makeup and quality of real breast milk. When a good friend taught me about a formula created by the Weston A. Price Foundation, I couldn’t have been happier. It also worked out well that we were able to use quite a few Fresh Fork products to make the formula.

We have made sure to leave time in the schedule for any questions you may have. We want you to leave empowered and ready to make good, healthy choices for your growing family! Hope to see you there!
