Join Us for the 2015 Midwest Regional Sustainability Summit: Registration now open!

Please note: The last day to register is Wednesday, April 29. If we reach capacity at that time, we will not offer registration the day of the Summit.

Green Umbrella (GU) is partnering with the City of Cincinnati, Hamilton County, the Greater Cincinnati Green Business Council, U.S. Green Building Council (Cincinnati Chapter) and the Brueggeman Center for Dialogue at Xavier University, to present a daylong conference to share the latest ideas and best practices in environmental sustainability on a regional level.

A key initiative of the City of Cincinnati’s Green Cincinnati Plan, the Midwest Regional Sustainability Summit (formerly the 3E Green Business Summit) inspires a collaborative culture of new thinking and unconventional ideas that pushes change in unexpected ways. The 2015 Sustainability Summit will convene stakeholders throughout the Ohio Valley region and adjoining areas to exchange best practices, provoke thoughtful discussion, celebrate the work that is currently being done throughout the Midwest and identify models for future regional collaboration that can be replicated throughout the United States. This Summit represents a merging of both the Green Umbrella Sustainability Summit and 3E Summit from years past and will aim to attract participation from the Greater Cincinnati region and the neighboring metro areas such as Dayton, Louisville and Lexington.

You can view more information about the program here, but highlights for the day include:

  • A keynote address from U.S. EPA Acting Deputy Administrator Stan Meiburg
  • Panels with mayors and sustainability directors from Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky
  • Breakout sessions to explore specific areas of sustainability with industry leaders
  • Green Cincinnati SBE Sustainability Awards reception immediately following summit (4:00 pm at Cintas Center)

At its core, the Midwest Regional Sustainability Summit is a platform to share resources and solutions within a regional economy and connect a variety of groups working towards similar goals. The Summit presents knowledge that attendees can use: successful ideas, new trends, and amazing ingenuity. The sessions and exhibits are designed to generate dialogue on valuable ideas in environmental sustainability and create connections on a regional level, including B2B. The latter concept revolves around connecting small businesses with extraordinary visionaries, forward thinkers, sustainability leaders and companies leveraging sustainability to make a positive impact on the bottom line.

Scholarship opportunity: The Midwest Regional Sustainability Summit is able to offer a limited number of discounted tickets for admission to those in need of financial support. If you would like to apply for a discounted ticket (50% discount = $25 for general admission), please fill out this form. The deadline to apply is Thursday, April 9. Recipients will be notified the week after if they have been accepted to receive the scholarship.
