The Noble Heart: Tergar Summer Meditation Retreat Hudson Valley

When we are at home and at ease within ourselves we discover our noble heart. This is the heart that is both compassionate and wise even in the face of life’s difficulties. When we are motivated to connect with these qualities within ourselves and nurture them, we discover our innate strength and ease. Engaging our noble heart empowers us to live in a way that brings forth the natural warmth of our being and the wisdom that supports us in facing what can appear to be an increasingly harsh and threatening world.

In this beautiful residential retreat setting, we will have the opportunity to explore how the stability of awareness helps to foster these qualities that transform the difficulties of our lives into inner strength and a compassionate relationship to ourselves, others and the world around us.  This weekend offers us a unique opportunity to gather together to strengthen and refresh our practice and explore the meditation teachings of Mingyur Rinpoche.

The daily schedule will include six to eight hours of meditation per day (practiced in 30-minute sessions), periods of silence along with video teachings by Mingyur Rinpoche, presentations on the key points of meditation by Tergar Instructor Myoshin Kelley and Facilitator Kell Julliard, and optional group discussions and individual interviews.

The retreat will be held at Garrison Institute, a peaceful oasis just one hour north of New York City.  The retreat center is located on a bluff overlooking the Hudson River with grounds that offer trails, ponds, meadows and the river itself. It is an idyllic setting for quiet contemplation.
