diverse group of stakeholders from academia, government, non-profit and for-profit sectors, and foundations, prized for their expertise and dedication to youth, will join high school and college students to explore ways to invest in developing new and improving existing programs to support first-generation college students.

The event will include a keynote speaker, panel discussions and breakout sessions that aim to:

  • Define the main challenges first-generation students face;
  • Outline the specific needs of first-generation students;
  • Present best practices for supporting first-generation students; and,
  • Facilitate collective thought partnership on how we might better establish improved systems of support for first-generation students.

First-Generation Baltimore will be the inaugural event to create a larger network of thought leaders committed to supporting first-generation students.

We are excited to announce  our Key Note Speaker-- Eric Waldo, Executive Director of Michelle's Obama's Reach Higher Initiative Program at The White House.
