Please join Liberation Programs for our Eighth Annual SPIRIT OF HOPE Benefit Dinner. We have the privilege of honoring former Board Chair Debra Wallace Hertz, PhD for her leadership and guidance over many years, and GE Capital for their continued investment in our programs through financial support and volunteer engagement to help us deliver the best services possible.
The agency’s signature event, Spirit of Hope, is held each year to provide important resources such as housing, mental health services, effective treatment alternatives and other support services that enable individuals and families to begin new lives and sustain lifelong recovery. Proceeds from Spirit of Hope events helped create Gini’s House, a project completed last year that provides 18 units of permanent housing for moms with children and renovate a state-of-the-art space for Liberation’s long-term residential program for mothers with young children.
WHO - Our Community
Addiction is a complex disease, and quitting takes more than good intentions. It is indiscriminate, striking the rich along with the poor, the educated along wtih the illiterate, and the old along with the young. There is no "face of addiction" because it can literally be anyone's face.

WHY - Critical Need
The need for our services is acute. A recent study by the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) focused on Fairfield County indicated:
And yet, less than 15,000 individuals were actually receiving some type of help. Persons of low income have the least access to care, especially psychiatric care. This cripples a person's chance of ever getting better and creates a recurring cycle of homelessness and unemployment.
This is why the resources created through Spirit of Hope are so important. It is only through helping families and individuals overcome addiction and sustain recovery that we can begin to break what is all too common a multigenerational cycle of substance abuse.
Attending Spirit of Hope is one way you can get involved and help.
