In the morning, Bob will help us recognize each of the eight functions in the problem solving process. We use all eight functions – to varying degrees – but we are often not aware of these processes in action.  We will gain an appreciation for using all eight functions and recognizing the functions as we use them. Bob will use handouts which demonstrate first-hand perspectives from people of different types. We will learn about the role that each function plays in the process, while engaging in interactive group discussions.

In the afternoon, Bob will move on to helping us explore what is essential for effective feedback. Have you ever been aware of receiving ineffective or confusing feedback? We will discover how using the eight functions can help make performance feedback more effective. How often do you struggle to give constructive feedback? We often use functions that we naturally prefer when giving feedback. Bob will help us explore and learn how to use our non-preferred functions to more effectively give feedback.
