All About Roses 

 Rose expert Chris Prewitt, with Weeks Roses out of Wasco, CA, will share some of his tips and tricks for growing roses, including basic requirements, mulching, fertilizing, spraying, and pruning.

In addition, the class will cover rose varieties, such as floribundas and hybrid teas, and the differences and benefits found between own-root and grafted. Chris will also share some of the amazing rose varieties available on the market today and his favorite rose picks for central Washington.

Rose Pruning - Women After class, students will be given the opportunity to practice hands-on pruning under Chris’s direction in the Arboretum’s own rose garden.  If you would like to take advantage of this optional portion of the class please bring gloves and pruning shears

“All About Roses” presents a wonderful opportunity for local rose enthusiasts to gain valuable insight from a rose expert.

About the Instructor:
SkyChris Prewitt has worked with roses for over 30 years.  His extensive experience includes landscaping, nursery management, and 20 years with Week’s Roses.  He obtained his degree in Ornamental Horticulture from the University of Maryland but has worked extensively on the west coast.
