2015 Annual Ohio Association for Developmental Education Conference 

Alexandros M. Goudas is Developmental Education Coordinator and Assistant Professor of English at Delta College in Michigan. He has been teaching at Delta College for six years, but has also taught at Darton College in Southwest Georgia and Minnesota State University, Mankato. In addition to teaching remedial courses and directing developmental education initiatives, Alex has written a textbook for remedial writing. He is also very involved with education data analysis, writing articles, and speaking about developmental education.

In volume 36 of the Journal of Developmental Education, Alex was lead author on the article “Addressing Flawed Research in Developmental Education” (2012), a publication co-authored by Dr. Hunter R. Boylan. Because of this work, Alex was presented with the Journal of Developmental Education Outstanding Article Award at the National Association for Developmental Education’s 2014 Conference in Dallas.

In 2014, Alex was elected President-Elect of the Michigan Developmental Education Consortium (MDEC), and he is now President of MDEC for 2015-2016. He was also recently honored when he was presented with the 2015 MDEC Educator of the Year Award.
