CPRS District 12 Awards & Installation Breakfast 

On Wednesday, March 25, 2015 CPRS District 12 will host their annual Awards & Installation Breakfast, which will feature the installment of the 2015-2016 Board with Mike Pacheco (City of La Mesa) serving as the new President. We will also recognize agencies, staff and volunteers with awards. The breakfast offers networking opportunities, a chance to be recognized by your peers and a keynote speaker.

Ivonne Mosquera-Schmidt

Ivonne Mosquera-Schmidt was diagnosed with retinal cancer and blinded at the age of two, but she lives life to its fullest.  Originally Colombian, raised in New York City, she was mainstreamed from kindergarten through college and Graduate School.  Ivonne earned a BS in mathematics from Stanford University and an MBA in Finance from Baruch College.  She has danced with the National Dance Institue, cycled, downhill skiied, and climbed Mount Kilimanjaro.

Ivonne began running in 2001, and in 2003, she ran her first marathon, guided by four sight runners.  Since then she has completed 12 more marathons with a personal best of 3 hours and 22 minutes at the Boston Marathon, and two ultras.  Taking on a challenge, more like a bet, Ivonne completed her first triatholon in 2007.  She captured the Visually Impaired National Championship title in the Paratriatholon World Championships in 2009 in Australia and 2010 in Hungary.
