2015 EP Luminaire Design Challenge 

The Toronto IES Emerging Professionals would like to announce the first ever Luminaire Design Challenge

The challenge will take place April 11^th, 2015 and bring together 20 participants. Participants will have the rare opportunity to work in the prestigious Nelson and Garrett Studio, and build their own luminaires within teams. Each team will be given a variety of materials and light sources to work with, inspiration, and assistance where needed. Let the creativity begin!

The Kick-off event will take place Thursday March 19^th, 2015 and we encourage everyone, EP or not, to join for an evening of food, drinks, and networking. The event will be held at Jump Restaurant at Yonge St and Wellington St.  Agenda for the Kick-off Event is shown below.

Challenge is open to ALL Emerging Professionals (those working in the lighting industry or related field for 5 years or less – includes students).  Preference will be given to those registered as an Emerging Professional with IES until March 13. After March 13, registration for all participants will be on a “first come” basis.  A waiting list will be established after all spots are filled and you will be refunded if a spot does not become available.  If you would like to be teamed up with a friend, this can be noted in your registration. If you are registering for the design challenge you *must* attend the Kick-off Event.

EP: $20.00 Non-EP: $40.00 (Registration includes Kick-off Event)

6:30pm-7:30pm:  Registration, food and drinks

7:30pm: Opening Remarks :

• Welcome and overview of competition – Sarah Silverstein, EP chair
• Rules and regulations
• Introduction of mentors and judges
• Teams announced

8:00pm – 9:00pm: networking
