Health Care Facility Management & Construction: Infection Prevention (IP) Program

With infection prevention a top priority in constructing health care facilities, you know you are liable on the job and want to be adequately prepared.....

Designed for individuals directly involved in the construction, renovation, and operation of health care facilities, this program identifies the infection prevention issues that every contractor, facility manager, architect, and engineer must address on the job.

While working in a health care enviornment, you need to understand your unique role and be prepared to implement processes to protect patients, staff and visitors from hospital-acquired infections. Through lectures, case study reviews, problem-solving exercises, and group discussions, you will become a more valuable member of health care construction team.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Explain the importance of conducting an infection control risk assessment (ICRA) for every project.
  • Explain the intent of the various compliances-, regulatory standard-, and guideline-setting agencies, including the Join Commission, Facility Guidelines Institute, and Centers for Disease Control.
