Matt Cheney, CEO, CleanPath Ventures LLC

 

Matt Cheney is the founder and CEO of CleanPath Ventures LLC, a global independent clean power producer and development/finance platform.  Prior to CleanPath, Mr. Cheney was the founder and CEO of Fotowatio Renewable Ventures LLC, the US-based subsidiary of Fotowatio SA, a Spanish based global solar power developer.  He also serves as the Executive Chairman of enACT Systems, a vertical SaaS platform working in the clean energy and tech network marketplace.

In 2004, Mr. Cheney founded and managed MMA Renewable Ventures, the first and largest solar IPP and tax equity syndicator in the US.  MMA Renewable Ventures focused on the development, ownership and operation of a multi-million dollar portfolio of large and distributed scale solar, wind, biomass and energy efficiency project investments, and was the first independent syndicator of Solar Tax Equity funds in the US.  MMA RV syndicated five separate funds totaling well over $1 BN in investment capital by 2009, all during Mr. Cheney's tenure.  MMA RV was merged with Fotowatio SA in 2010, and then merged with SunEdison in 2011.

Prior to MMA RV, Mr. Cheney was the CEO of NUON Renewable Ventures USA LLC, while he served as North American Business Development for NUON NV, a Dutch multi-utility based in Amsterdam.  In that role, he developed and implemented NUON's North American renewable energy investment strategy while managing US mergers and acquisitions strategies as a member of NUON's global M&A team.  Mr. Cheney himself took NUON Renewable Ventures private in 2004 under the name of Renewable Ventures LLC.

Mr. Cheney has more than 25 years in the fields of civil engineering, energy, and environment, including experience with the US Agency for International Development in South America, the National Rural Electric Co-op Assocation's International programs, the US Dept of Energy, the Utility PhotoVoltaic Group, now the Solar Electric Power Association.  He holds a Masters Degree from the Johns Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies and a BS Degree from the American University, both in Washington DC.

Charlotta Holmquist is COO & Co-founder of Scypho Sweden AB.  At Scypho, Charlotta works with a new generation of intelligent climate control system for residential houses.  Charlotta has a MSc from Stockholm School of Economics and has an extensive entrepreneurial background.  She started her carrier as chief analyst at Salomon Smith Barney in Chile and was later recruited by IBM Center for e-Business Innovation.  Prior to Scypho, Charlotta was Partner and CEO and built several comapnies within the ICT and IT sector.

Stan Lewandowski counsels companies in the US, Europe and South America on financing, operations, development, and other strategic transactional issues, primarily in the technology and renewable energy sectors.  His work involves:
