WHW 2015

The Women Helping Women luncheon has been sponsored by the Des Moines Pastoral Counseling Center since 1999, raising over $450,000 to provide counseling for women and girls with limited resources. The Center was established in 1972 and is now one of the largest counseling groups in central Iowa, serving over 2,200 clients annually.

 featuring

 ROXANNE CONLIN
Founding Partner, Roxanne Conlin & Associates, P.C.

Finding Justice: Women and the Law

Roxanne’s distinguished career has been devoted to civil  justice - representing underserved people and those who have been harmed by others. She founded the Civil Justice Association, was the first woman president of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and was one of the first two women to become a United States Attorney in the Department of Justice. Her keynote presentation will include entertaining and inspiring stories of how she has assisted women in need throughout her remarkable career.

  honoring

LINDA RAILSBACK, M.D.
Obstetrician and Gynecologist, Retired

We are proud to honor Dr. Railsback for her steadfast commitment to providing and protecting women’s healthcare - ensuring prenatal care to women with limited resources, working abroad with several humanitarian  organizations, and initiating the effort to create the Mid-Iowa Sexual Assault Response Team (SART). Since retiring from her private practice in 1993, Linda has volunteered with different aid groups, including Doctors of the World, and worked with underserved communities in the Des Moines area.
