Executive Briefing:
Doing Business in Burma

Join us as we welcome Senior Commercial Officer James Golsen of the U.S. Consulate in Rangoon, Burma.  Mr. Golsen will lead a briefing and discussion of commercial trends, market entry strategies and top opportunities for U.S. exports to Burma. Limited individual business consultations are available upon request.

Since 2011, the government of Burma has undertaken reforms to open Burma's economy to the global marketplace. Foreign trading partners have sharpened their focus on Burma and are considering the unique opportunities the country presents within a variety of different sectors. With a rich natural resources base, an estimated population of 60 million, a young labor force and a prime geographic location, Burma is the subject of much interest from the international business community.

You will learn about the on-the-ground realities of doing business there, and gain valuable insight into what U.S. companies need to know in order to be succesful, including commercial environment, leading sectors, market complexities, policy outlook, and USG programs. James Golsen and his team are ready to assist U.S. exporters with market entry or expansion through a range of services, including market intelligence, international partner searches, trade counseling and business matchmaking with potential partners.

Please contact Kellie.Holloway@trade.gov to schedule a one-on-one consultation (limited appointments available).

The briefing is free, but space is limited. Please RSVP.
