The Cesar Sanchez Memorial Scholarship

 Please join us for a 2 mile run at New Dorp Beach, Staten Island to honor the memory of Cesar Sanchez, who was felled by a gunshot on September 24, 2014.

Cost to Register:  $20.00 per person

 If the $20.00 registration fee does not fit in your budget or you wish to pay cash, please select "Pay at the Door" when registering and we will work with you on the day of the event.

Cesar graduated from NYCID's Staten Island Young Adult Borough Center, seen here being congratulated by this mom at our June 2014 commencement ceremony.  Cesar was a basketball coach and his life was ended by a stranger as he was to begin college.  Cesar's winning spirit and community service were present in every aspect of his life.  Staff and students of NYCID's YABC program find strength every day in that spirit.  We will never forget.  Help us raise awareness and stop the gun violence in our streets.
