Play is the language of the child. Attempting to assess and treat children in a primary talk therapy modality can be difficult for the client and the clinician. Play therapy is growing in popularity in the mental health professions, and is recognized as an effective means of addressing many developmental and psychological issues of children and adolescents. In this workshop, play and art techniques for assessment, intervention, and termination in individual, group and family therapy will be presented experientially, as well as through discussion and case presentation.
