The workshop covers various legal structures, business insurance, licenses/permits, leases/contracts, and protecting your intellectual property. It also goes over the basics of financing your business, estimating start-up costs, break even analysis, the importance of cash flow and how to manage it, as well as basic financial statements.
Instructor: Fermín Álvarez, holds both a B.A. in Education, with anemphasis in ESL from Universidad de Ciencias Pedagogicas Felix Varela and a degree in Broadcast Journalism from Universidad Central de Las Villas. An entrepreneur himself, Fermin is the executive chef and co-owner of Our Cuban Kitchen, an Oakland-based catering company, serving authentic Cuban cuisine to the Bay Area community.

If you signed up for the Business Basics Series, and miss one class out of the three, you have one month to retake the course, otherwise you will have to repay for the course.
