At this workshop, you will come away understanding the optimal role of social media, whether you’re in a B2B, B2C or non-profit organization. Plan on bringing your brand and social media challenges and leaving with practical tools to build and execute compelling brand and social media strategies. (With a focus on Facebook, Twitter & Instagram)
Focus: This interactive course will help participants:
  • Determine the role of social media, including which social media networks can best be leveraged to help achieve your marketing objectives
  • Understand how to develop a successful social media plan, including what resources will be needed to support implementation
  • Identify the common mistakes and pitfalls of participating in social media
Students will learn how to:
  • create good content and get started
  • use social media to build credibility and gain influence
  • drive traffic and sales to your website
  • measure and assess the impact of your activities and make changes where necessary

Who should attend?

This workshop is aimed at individuals and companies with a basic to intermediate level of understanding of social media. You should have an understanding of the main social networks and have created accounts with some of the top ones—e.g. Twitter and Facebook. Ideally, you will have tried a few ideas out but this is not essential.

Ryan Lim is the Principal Consultant and Founding Partner of QED Consulting. He has worked more than 15 years as a digital marketer and is a pioneer in social media marketing. Ryan is an advisor and strategist to senior management teams of some of the world's leading businesses and brands with his experience on digital marketing strategies, digital team structures, digital reputation management, digital marketing audits, social media crisis management and social media intelligence. He founded Blugrapes in 2006 and had led his team to be recognized by Marketing Magazine as a top three social media agency since 2012 before joining QED Consulting in 2014. As an industry thought leader, he is constantly sought after by leading marketing publications and events to share his insights and opinions on digital marketing and social media that often shape the regional digital marketing industry. Ryan is often invited to train marketing professionals on digital and social media. He has trained over 3,000 marketing professionals from Fortune 500 companies and government organizations across the ASEAN region. As course developer for leading tertiary institutions, Ryan often lectures at Singapore Management University, Singapore Institute of Management, Aventis School of Management and Ngee Ann Polytechnic. Freda Kwok: As Partner & Principal Consultant of QED, Freda leads regional organizations to strategic usage of the digital medium for business accountability. She is known for her insights in the retail, beauty and finance industry, with key expertise in content marketing and advocacy cultivation. Freda's portfolio include Alliance Bank, Manulife, Unilever, Estee Lauder, Love, Bonito and HBO, with relationships spanning years as trusted, collaborative partners. A proponent of enhancing the digital industry standards in Singapore, she has lectured at leading professional training schools and institutions like Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore Institute of Technology, and Singapore Management University. She was also a judge at The Media Challenge 2014 (Republic Polytechnic) and the Mumpreneur awards 2014 (Mums@Work).

Natasha Zhao is a Partner & Principal Consultant at QED with close to a decade of experience in digital and social media marketing. She advises & builds strategies for Fortune 500 Multinational Corporations & Small to Medium Enterprises that leverage digital mediums to drive their business in both local and regional markets. Her wide digital marketing experience spans both B2B & B2C companies, such as Coca-Cola, CA Technologies, Discovery Channel, Dolby and Unilever. Beyond marketing strategy, Natasha has led organizations in re-structuring their communications & marketing departments for digital integration & implementation; establishing streamlined workflow processes & policies to help the organization meet the demands of consumer engagement in today’s digital environment. Natasha also has a passion for pedagogy and has adjunct lectured in Singapore Management University, Singapore Institute of Technology and Ngee Ann Polytechnic. She is also a firm advocate of raising the standards of social media marketing and conducts regular social media training courses in Singapore.
