  • 7+ 7 = 77 (led by Garth Heckman)  Health clubs have 7 seconds to make an impression on new guests and  within those 7 seconds, 7 things need to take place if you want them to sign up or even return. These are not top secret items, but rather forgotten or overlooked!
  • Open Form – (led by Kitty Baltos & Sara Cahill of the Monticello Community Center)  There is never enough time to connect with other facilities to see what’s working well and maybe what’s not working well. Come to this open discussion to network with others that encounter that same question. We will also be discussing the Silver n Fit and Silver Sneakers options. Bring your ideas and notebooks!
  • Marketing & Advertising Budgets (led by Megan Chisholm)  Learn how to maximize your Marketing & Advertising budget. Get several takeaways from Megan Chisholm who has put together several plans for companies to help them excel and get more out of their budget.  She will send you home with tip & ideas that you can incorporate into your facility immediately!

The Shapes of Management – (led by Greg Hayes, Director of Public Safety, Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community)  In today's business world, there a number of different shapes utilized to illustrate leadership and/or management concepts. Within all of these concepts, 3 shapes are routinely seen. You will walk away with a better understanding of your staff and others you interact with on a daily basis. Finally, you will acquire resources to find more detailed information within each subject area.
 
Hydro-Pilates – (led by Missy Kassube, Personal Trainer / Fitness Specialist at Waterford, Fargo ND)
  (*Bring swim suit/towel) Hydro-Pilates are non-impact strengthening and stretching movements that require precise breathing and muscle control.  This class will have a mind-body focus.  Hydro-Pilates initiates movements from the core muscles out to your extremities, and focuses on core stabilization, posture correction, increasing muscle strength and stress relief.
The Front Desk: the Guck and Glamour – (led by John Small, Executive Director of the Community Recreation Center, Watertown, SD) The “Front Desk” is by far the most important area of any facility.  This session will help managers and support staff deal with everyday encounters of the people across the desk from you.  We will discuss, member cancellations, giving tours, various membership freezes, accident policy and membership contracts.  Note:  All participants, please bring 25 copies of cancellations form, tour guidelines, policy on membership freezes, membership contracts and any other information that you might feel will benefit our group!

2:15-3:15pm               Breakout Session #3
Customer Service and Team Building – (led by Kayla Nelson, Manager of the Vital Fit Club, Alexandria, MN)  Customer Service & Team Building are the foundations of running a successful gym.  Learn some tips from Kayla Nelson, Manager at Vital Fit Club on team building how she keeps her team at the top level of customer service.

Design, Differentiate and Deliver Impactful Health Coaching Services – (led by Patrice Atkinson, Recreation Supervisor MEd-HRD & Sarah Atkinson, Certified Health Coach)  Motivate and connect with clients by meeting them where they are in their personal journey to health.  Understand what motivates them and coach them to make meaningful changes that instill permanent lifestyle changes and result in client retention. Takeaways: Assessment tools, an outline for a 28 day health coaching program and more!
Tactical Leadership – (led by Greg Hayes, Director of Public Safety, Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux CommunityThe buzz word in today's society is "tactical".  The fitness industry has seen a number of different programs being released in the market to bring the member to the level of fitness. What is lacking is the connection between those who actually working in a tactical high performance environment and others who translate the concepts to an employee of member. Greg Hayes will illustrate what tactical leadership really is through the eyes of 23 years within fire service leadership. Utilizing real life situational leadership and relating how this can be mirrored to the fitness professional for managing employees or delivering tactical classes.
