Tooling Component Repair Certification Training

Every day, tool repair technicians run into situations in which they need to either direct the replacement of an expensive piece of tooling to get a mold up and running or—if they have the foundational knowledge and skills—they do it themselves. Many times tooling that could easily have been repaired is instead replaced—often at great expense.

ToolingDocs will show your mold maintenance technicians how to repair tooling quickly and accurately versus replacing it or sending it out, saving you thousands of dollars and enhancing your technicians’ skill levels.

Attendees will learn how to rework typical tooling issues such as worn edges, dings, scuffs, and scratches with typical tooling found in most molds (injection, blow, compression, etc.) through actual bench work. The rework techniques will include: Laser Welding, TIG Welding, Brazing, Stoning Tooling, Bluing and Fitting Tooling, and Polishing Tooling.

Students are encouraged to bring samples of their own tooling from their own shops to rework.
